Countess Mette Ahlefeldt-Laurvig, Count Christian Ahlefeldt-Laurvig and their six children have created an everyday life that is evident everywhere around Tranekær Castle. There is a hustle and bustle and the family has succeeded in turning the Castle into a discerning venue especially for companies and shooting parties.

Mette has devoted much time to the production of cherry wine, gives lectures on subconscious communications, and is also an accomplished rider. Besides she keeps busy looking after the many children and guests of the Castle.

Christian is the thirteenth generation Ahlefeldt at Tranekær Castle. At the age of 30, he took over the castle from his father Preben Ahlefeldt-Laurvig. Christian keeps busy, with new concepts and a keen interest in everything that takes place at the Castle and the surrounding land. He is a competent gun, father, and businessman, and loves the buzzy way of life at the Castle.

Mette and Christian have succeeded in establishing Tranekær Castle as an exclusive meeting venue for business people, shooting parties and others. Everyone is received and greeted as guests of the Count and Countess, immediately making the visitors feel welcome and at home inside the English red walls.
